Patrick (Pat) McKeown is a Professor Emeritus in the Management Information Systems (MIS) Department in the Terry College of Business at the University of Georgia of which he was the founding department head. He has degrees from the Georgia Institute of Technology and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He retired in 2003 to Fort Myers Beach but still keeps a home in Athens, GA. He is the author or co-author of more 30 textbooks in the fields of management science, computer science, and management information systems and has published more than 50 academic articles. In retirement, he enjoys fishing, biking, and reading. He serves on the Board of Directors for Pelican Watch Condominium and works as a docent at the Mound House. Married to his wife, Carolyn, for more than 53 years, they have a son and a daughter and two grandchildren. While he has written numerous textbooks, this is his first foray into historical material.
