Baile y Comida: History of the Estero Rancho

This multisensory event will have guest learn about the rancho de pescadores on Fort Myers Beach during the late 1700s and early 1800s. The evening will start with a short walking tour of the site to explain the U.S. Latino fishing camp, or rancho, that flourished under Spanish, British, and finally U.S. rule on Fort Myers Beach. Then a local dance instructor, Angela Hicks, will teach a 30-minute fandango and salsa dance class before guests will enjoy a Cuban rancho inspired dinner with roasted pork, fried yucca with mojo sauce, and black beans and rice. Museum admission, tour, dance lesson, and meal are all included.
